Pitman Training Kenya Safal MRM Foundation CAP Cohort 1 Employability Training Nairobi 2026

The first cohort of the Career Acceleration Programme (CAP) at Pitman Training Kenya, delivered in partnership with the Safal MRM Foundation, has completed its learning journey. The programme was designed to help young Kenyans strengthen practical employability skills, digital confidence and professional readiness for the workplace.

CAP scholars joined from diverse backgrounds with a shared goal: to become more confident and capable in professional environments. Some began with limited digital literacy and little exposure to structured office settings. Through practical, step-by-step learning, they developed the technical, communication and organisational skills needed to contribute effectively at work.

What is the Career Acceleration Programme at Pitman Training Kenya?

The Career Acceleration Programme (CAP), delivered with the Safal MRM Foundation, helps young Kenyans build practical job-ready skills including Microsoft Office, communication, typing, data management, time management, teamwork and workplace professionalism. Three first-cohort graduates have secured three-month work attachments at the Kenya Ports Authority.

What workplace skills did the CAP scholars develop?

The cohort built proficiency in Microsoft Office, professional communication, typing and document production, data management and reporting, time management, teamwork and workplace professionalism. These are transferable skills that support careers in administration, office support, customer service and other entry-level professional roles.

Three CAP graduates secure Kenya Ports Authority work attachments

A particularly important outcome is that three CAP graduates have secured three-month work attachments at the Kenya Ports Authority. The attachments allow them to apply their training in a real workplace, build experience, strengthen their CVs and continue developing the confidence required for long-term employment.

Why employability training matters in Kenya

Employability training matters because employers increasingly look for candidates who can combine technical ability with communication, reliability, organisation and digital fluency. CAP focuses on that combination: helping learners move beyond theory and develop practical skills they can use from their first day in the workplace. It also helps bridge the gap between completing training and gaining the workplace exposure that many early-career candidates need.

For people in Nairobi and across Kenya who want to build similar capabilities, Pitman Training Kenya offers flexible professional courses, Awards and Diplomas including the Administrative Assistant Diploma, Microsoft Office Diploma, Microsoft Office Award, Microsoft Excel, Effective Business Communication, Typaz® Foundation touch typing and Time Management. These programmes support learners seeking stronger office, administrative, digital and communication skills.

Building pathways from training into employment

Pitman Training Kenya is proud to have partnered with the Safal MRM Foundation on the first CAP cohort and to see graduates progressing towards real workplace opportunities. The programme reflects a shared commitment to skills development, employability and stronger pathways into work for young people in Kenya.
