“I owe a great deal to Pitman Training for giving me the chance to re-train. The centres are spacious and provide a lovely environment to study, with approachable and helpful staff on hand to sort out any problems or questions you have. I recommend Pitman Training.”

Adapting to Change and Seizing New Opportunities

When Elena was made redundant after years of service, the shock was palpable. However, she quickly realised that this change could be an opportunity for growth and development.

Recognising the demand for audio typing skills in the job market, Elena decided to enhance her existing keyboard skills. She found support through government-funded training at Pitman Training, where she not only refined her Word and Excel skills but also gained a Level 2 certificate in audio typing.

Elena’s determination shone through as she faced the challenges of job hunting. “I had 9 interviews before landing a post as a Secretarial Assistant/Audio Typist for the NHS,” she recalls. Each interview was a learning experience, helping her build confidence and refine her presentation skills.

Her perseverance paid off when she successfully passed the audio typing test and secured her position with the NHS. Elena credits her success to the comprehensive training and supportive environment at Pitman Training. “The centres are spacious and provide a lovely environment to study, with approachable and helpful staff on hand to sort out any problems or questions you have,” she shares.
